On February 3rd, 2018, the LCHS Ethics Bowl Team will be competing in the Southern California High School Ethics Bowl, which is affiliated with the National High School Ethics Bowl (NHSEB).
Ethics Bowl is a type of speaking competition in which two teams of five people discuss an ethical dilemma. According to the NHSEB: “The goal is to demonstrate breadth and depth of thinking about difficult and important ethical situations.” If you’re interested in more information, you can view the NHSEB Team Guidelines or look at the dilemmas we’ll be discussing this year (which are quite interesting to think about even if you don’t plan on joining the team).
Meetings will be after school on Mondays, beginning on October 23rd, and will last for 1-2 hours. If you’re interested in joining, or have any questions, please email Vice President Ian Strange (firstname.lastname@example.org) or President Derek Hu (email@example.com).
